Army Fort Belvoir Building 2113

Building 2113 units 2113A and 2113B were in need of cosmetic repairs and code compliance updates. The Army came to Meridien Group with this project because of Meridien's track record of renovating office spaces in existing buildings. Meridien's architecture team went above and beyond on this project to work closely with the customer throughout the entire design process to ensure that the finished product satisfied the Army's requirements and exceeded expectations.

Once the project got to construction, Meridien Group was able to successfully manage various subcontractors in trades including: concrete, mill work, HVAC, demolition, drywall installation, painting, ceiling installation, and electric. Throughout the construction process, Meridien was able to realize various scheduling efficiencies to complete the project within budget and on time.

Meridien Group's expertise with office renovation also allowed the team to realize additional aspects to the job that the Army had not initially considered. The team was able to bring these considerations to the table, and allow the Army to make decisions that ultimately allowed the end users to be even more pleased than anticipated with the final product.

EPA Hemicycle Restoration Façade

The William Jefferson Clinton Federal Building (formerly Ariel Rios) was constructed in 1934 to house the Post Office Department headquarters and serve as the linchpin of the Federal Triangle plan. This project’s scope is to repair, re-point and clean the damaged limestone on the 12th street Hemicycle and arcade. In addition, Meridien Group provided metal conservation services to clean and re-patinate the bronze doors, grates and light fixtures. The project is a design build project, in order to fully identify the extent of the damage and develop recommendations for the appropriate repair and cleaning methodologies. Cleaning will also include the floor within the arcade. The scope of services will address the limestone arcade that fronts 12th street, between Constitution and Pennsylvania avenue.

Postal Square Atrium Caulking and Windows

Meridien Group was called upon to assist in the restoration of exterior skylight components on the Postal Square building, which was constructed in 1914. There were glass lites that had seal failure, resulting in fogging of the air space. Additionally, pressure plate weather seals needed replacement, as the glazing gaskets in the pressure plates were hard and brittle due to aging and exposure to UV. GSA trusted Meridien Group to complete the restoration effort because of our successful past performance on many other Historic Properties in the area.

FDA Building 1 Paint and Terrazzo Repairs

Meridien Group repaired and replaced existing damaged terrazzo floor tiles in the main lobby entrance of Building 1 at the White Oak Campus of the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). The existing terrazzo flooring was a tripping hazard and needed to be repaired as soon as possible to safeguard employees and visitors to the building. Due to wear and tear and age of the facility, the floors were cracked and split in many areas throughout the lobby. Meridien Group also repainted all common area walls, columns, and door frames facing public spaces located in Building 1 at the White Oak Campus of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
